Nika Potapova was born in Kiev area, Ukraine, in 2003. She started climbing at a very young age and since the beginning she has combined competition and rock climbing. At the age of 10, she sent her first eight grade route, “Giljotina” - 5.13b (8a), in Misja Pec, Slovenia. Nika has always known how to take advantage of her rest periods out of competition to focus on rock climbing projects. In February 2019 she sent her first 9a, "Fuck the System" - 5.14d (9a) in Santa Linya, Spain. In competition, she already accumulates renowned victories. A second place in the youth B category of the Youth World Championship 2018 in Moscow, Russia.
First place in the 2018 IFSC European Youth World Championship in Imst, Austria. Finally, in 2019 she achieved a first place in the Lead Youth A category of the IFSC Youth World Championship in Arco, Italy.
Nika is very motivated to face new challenges in climbing.
